E1 Error

If you encounter an E1 error on your display, the unit has automatically turned the mini-pump on and off five times in an effort to resolve the issue. The E1 error typically indicates one of two issues: a stuck check valve or an airlock. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot and resolve the error.

Chilipad Dock Pro E1 Error

Disconnect hose and flip the connection.

  • Reversing the connection alters the water intake flow from one side to the opposite side.
  • Power on the Dock Pro to see if the error clears. Proceed to the next step if error persists.

Disconnect the Dock Pro

  • Detach your Dock Pro from the hose and bring it to a sink or bathtub where you can conveniently plug it in, or alternatively, use a bucket.

Try to Dislodge the Check Valve

  • The following instruction is applicable only to a Dock Pro unit equipped with a black manual check valve. If your Dock Pro features a black/white check valve or an electric solenoid, this instruction does not apply.
  • Shake the Unit: Before turning it on, gently shake the unit from side to side and front to back to help dislodge the metal ball in the check valve.

Check Water Flow

  • Fill the Reservoir:
  • With the drain key attached and the unit powered off, fill the reservoir with water and place it back in the housing.
  • Observe the flow of water from the drain key. If the water flows freely, everything is functioning correctly.
  • If the flow is obstructed, the check valve may be stuck and requires cleaning.

The following instructions are applicable only to Dock Pro units equipped with black manual check valves. If your Dock Pro features black/white check valve or electric solenoid, these instructions do not apply.

Try cleaning the check valve before proceeding with the retrofit of the electric check valve solenoid.
