Introduction

Your 2.0 Dock continuously monitors its own cooling, heating, and water-circulation systems. When it detects a problem, it saves or shows a specific error code so you can address the issue before it affects your sleep environment. Knowing what each code means is the first step toward quick, safe, and effective troubleshooting.

E1 Error Code

The 2.0 Dock has detected trapped air in its water-circulation loop. Air pockets (an “airlock”) prevent the pump from moving water efficiently through the tubing and pad, which can lead to poor temperature control, pump noise, or system shutdown. When an airlock is sensed, the Dock pauses operation and issues this alert.

Possible Causes

  • Reservoir was recently refilled or the unit was moved/tilted, allowing air to enter the lines.
  • Low water level that drew air into the pump inlet.
  • Loose or poorly seated quick-connect fittings.
  • Small leaks introducing bubbles into the system.

Immediate Actions

  • Power off and unplug the Dock.
  • Check that the reservoir is filled to the MAX line with distilled water; top off if needed.
  • Inspect all hoses and quick-connects for kinks, loose fittings, or leaks.
  • Reverse (flip 180°) the hose connection at the back of the Dock. Reversing the connection alters the water-intake flow from one side to the opposite side and often dislodges trapped air.
  • Power on the Dock Pro and see if the error clears. If the Airlock alert persists, proceed to the next step.
  • Prime the Hydrolayer system to purge air. Link to instructions to Prime your Hydrolayer
  • Listen for a smooth, uninterrupted water-flow sound; this indicates that air has been expelled.

If the Airlock alert appears again after two complete prime cycles or if you notice constant bubbling in the reservoir, disconnect the unit and contact Customer Experience for next steps.

E2 Error Code

The 2.0 Dock’s onboard temperature sensor has recorded a value above its safe operating limit. To prevent damage to internal components and ensure user safety, the Dock automatically suspends heating/cooling and displays this alert.

Possible Causes

  • Restricted airflow around the Dock (blocked vents, enclosed cabinet).
  • Inadequate water flow due to low fluid level, kinks, or air pockets.
  • Long-duration high-temperature setting in a warm ambient room.
  • Faulty temperature sensor or control board (less common).

Immediate Actions

  • Power off and unplug the Dock.
  • Move the unit to an open, well-ventilated area; clear any obstructions from air inlets/outlets.
  • Inspect tubing for kinks, bends, or blockages; reseat quick-connects.
  • Verify the reservoir is filled to the MAX line with distilled water; top off if needed.
  • Allow the Dock to cool for 20 minutes, then reconnect power and restart.

If the Overheating alert returns after these steps, or if you notice unusual odors, discoloration, or repeated shutdowns, discontinue use immediately and contact Customer Experience for next steps.

E3 Error Code

The 2.0 Dock’s fluid-level sensor has detected that the internal reservoir does not contain enough water (or the sensor circuit itself cannot verify the level). To protect the pump and heating/cooling elements, the unit has paused operation and issued this alert.

Immediate Actions

  • Power off the Dock and unplug it.
  • Restore power and restart the unit.

If the alert reappears after these steps, the system may have:

  • A faulty level sensor.
  • A control board communication error.

At this point, discontinue use and contact Customer Experience for next steps.
